Pinot Noir 2022

The Matahiwi vineyard is situated on an alluvial boulder ridge in the Masterton district of Wairarapa. With warm free draining soils and the cool dry local climate, this is an ideal place to grow Pinot Noir.

This classic Wairarapa Pinot Noir combines elevated aromas of ripe cherry and plum fruit characters are complemented on the nose by spicy, toasty oak. The flavour is all about fruit freshness, with a mouth-filling, supple finish. Enjoy with your favourite lamb dish or a full-flavoured Beef Bourguignon.

Vineyard

This Pinot Noir is sourced from vineyards in the northern Wairarapa and is comprised of several different clones of the Pinot Noir grape. Care is taken in the vineyard to ensure the crops are not high and that the fruit is well exposed so that it can ripen properly.

Winemaking

Each batch is kept separate until blending to ensure we can create the best quality and most consistent product.
